The 4 Spheres

The Earth is a planet in the Solar System where life resides. Earth is the third planet from the sun and is made up of four distinct spheres that help in sustaining life, from the plants to all of the animals, even human kind.

The Earth is like an onion, it has many layers that make it this one whole bulb. But there are 4 very known layers or sphere that help earth become more livable. These are the Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, Biosphere and the Geosphere. The first sphere is the Atmosphere which came from the Greek word “Atmos” meaning Air. The Atmosphere is made up of 5 different spheres which are the Trophosphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and Exosphere. It holds all the air in the planet, from the oxygen we breathe to the carbon dioxide we release, as long as it’s air or gas, it’s part of the atmosphere. The next sphere is the Hydrosphere which came from the Greek word “Hydros” which means water. The Hydrosphere holds all the water in the planet that all organisms need in order to live. The river water, ocean, lakes, they are all in this sphere. The third sphere is the Biosphere which cafe from the Greek word “Bio” which means life. The biosphere is quite different from the other spheres because it is the only sphere that has life and can regenerate itself. The biosphere is the one that provides organisms with all that it eats in order to live. This sphere consists of all the living things in the planet, from the plants to all the animals. as long as it has life, it is part of the biosphere. The last sphere is the Geosphere which comes from the Greek word “Geo” which means Earth. This sphere consists of all the soil, rocks and mountains in the planet. It can be said that this is the skeleton of the planet where all the living organisms grow and live, as long as it is a part of the ground, its part of the geosphere.

These are the four spheres that have a major role in sustaining life on Earth. Each one has its own property that, not only humans but all organisms need to live. Every layer, like an onion, makes up Earth into what it is and living in it more enjoyable and tasteful.
